Engineered for Every Type of Compression Molding Process
Whether you’re working with thermosets, thermoplastics, or fiber-reinforced materials, DUNKES designs hydraulic presses that deliver precision, repeatability, and strength. Our systems are optimized for a wide range of compression molding applications, including:
- Sheet molding compound (SMC)
- Bulk molding compound (BMC)
- Direct long fiber thermoplastic (DLFT)
- Direct compounding of long fiber thermoplastics (D-LFT)
- Multi component molding (MCM)
- Glass mat thermoplastics (GMT)
- Thermoplastic compression molding
- Transfer molding
- Long fiber reinforced thermoplastics (LFRT)
- Low pressure molding compound (LPMC)
High-Output Composite Presses Built for Complex Parts and Fast Cycles
If you’re molding composite parts at scale, precision and speed matter. Macrodyne compression molding presses are engineered for high-volume production of everything from thin, intricate components to thick, structurally complex parts. Our systems are designed to deliver:
- Fast cycle times to maximize output and prevent material degradation
- Tight control of ram axis motion for accuracy and consistency, especially when working with SMC, BMC, and D-LFT
- Reduced residual stresses thanks to optimized material flow and press timing
Fully Automated D-LFT and SMC Capabilities
Our long fiber thermoplastics (D-LFT) press systems support direct compounding, where glass rovings and resin are combined in a twin-screw extruder. Once compounded, the heated material is robotically loaded into the mold for pressing.
Want flexibility? DUNKES’ D-LFT systems can also switch to automated SMC forming using the same robotic loading/unloading setup. Just add an SMC cutting table and trimming station.
Enhance Your Compression Molding Press with Smart Add-Ons
